Hip Hip

When you’re on a holiday
You can’t find the words to say
All the things that come to you
And I wanna feel it too

On an island in the sun
We’ll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can’t control my brain

When you’re on a golden sea
You don’t need no memory
Just a place to call your own
As we drift into the zone

On an island in the sun
We’ll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can’t control my brain

We’ll run away together
We’ll spend some time forever
We’ll never feel bad anymore

Here is to another decade of doing everything backwards, and always being late. Because if it wasn't, then it wouldn't be our way. Which is, in our own little world, perfection.

I love you Kyle-face,

Love, me.

Reads: Farenheight 451

Futuristic America, where firemen no longer put out fires and where people no longer talk to each other. They instead talk to televised walls, to strangers who smile at them, and are referred to as ‘family’. Firemen set books aflame, along with the reader’s possessions and home.

Books contain history, whether or not it’s fiction or non-fiction, the bible or Shakespeare. With history comes pain, joy, suffering, and mistakes. When people read, they face reality, which makes them question and ponder and can sometimes lead to sadness. Why not just live in a world where everything is secure and perfect? There maybe a war going on, but sung and secure in your house with walls that portray the ‘ideal’ life, you will not know.

Author Ray Bradbury
For Guy Montage, he was just a fireman with a slight curiosity. One that he ignored until he met Clarisse, a teenager with a wondrous mind, who loves expressing her random thoughts verbally. Montage begins to question his thoughts as well, why does he have to burn books? Did firemen used to actually put out fires? Did people actually walk around outside and have real conversation, like he and Clarisse do each night?

Before he can fully comprehend what is happening, Clarisse disappears and he is left alone with his questions. With the help of an old friend, Faber, he decides to take on a mission to uncover the reason behind the mass censorship that has blanketed the United States. Which begins with reading a book, and leads to re-creating the world.

Birthday Wishlist

Since a certain blogger has a birthday coming up, and after reading Mel's post on her fall wish list, I thought I would do a birthday wish list.

Lounge pants. Yeah its boring but I have one pair, without holes, and I like to just change into these after work/school/YMCA. These are from Target.

Also, I have a slight obsession with pajamas. Like these ones from Target:

They have Louie's on them!

I have also fallen in love with these items from F21:

Cute baby fox sweater and these are close to the boots that I had that died earlier this year.

I really want a colander and I saw this one at Meijer on sale while we were on vacation, only it was green.

Books, well, you can never own too many books. But I have been dying to read Drown, by Junot Diaz.

There is no way that Kyle will let me play this before November, but I am so getting a copy of this and playing this to death as soon as it is released.

Saturday was such a blast! Suze from Miss Vinyl Ahoy, hosted a blogger Meet-up/clothing swap in Ann Arbor. Suze and I chat on twitter every now and again, and I was really excited to finally get a chance to meet her in person. So, Tiffany, Brittney, Cat and I, decided to pile into my little Saturn and head out to Ann Arbor for the afternoon. I am so thankful for Cat and her husbands' Iphone. I think I ended up turning around about five times between the ride there and back. Ann Arbor is confusing! I have driven to Chicago, all around the UP, and in Detroit, but I always end up getting confused when it comes to Ann Arbor.

As true Michigan bloggers, we meet up in a beautiful park, the Nicholas Arboretum. Suze was sure to supply us with Faygo and Better Maid chips, to support the Mitten-State, Yum! We each received adorable rings, and set out our clothes to swap. I ended up with some cute skirts and a top, and managed to purge a few items out of my own closet. I have never been to a clothing swap before, and I have to say that I loved it. Everyone was so nice, and we chatted as we sized up clothing. But the best part was meeting so many Michigan (and one Ohio), bloggers! I got to meet a few new girls that were all very sweet and funny: Liz, Jaclyn, & Katie!

We stopped in Traverse City on the way home because I had never actually been there before. We stopped for lunch and hit up a bookstore where I did some damage. Traverse City is a really cute city, and I am bummed that I did not get to spend more time there. I know that I will have to drag Kyle back there soon (like he would be opposed), because there is so much more of the city that I would like to see.

Right now I have so many projects going on in my life that I am a little overwhelmed. I used to have such a good drive, and strong motivation. Now I am always tired and I tend to let things slack. I have decided that I am not going to let that happen anymore. I can't give up just because something does not go according to plan, I need to learn to work around it. I need to make the most out of my days, and to get as much done as possible, so I am not rushing around at the last minute. This is going to start today.
